Ariat Sunstopper 2.0 1/4 Zip Review
For a few years now this top has been one of our best selling summer products. Here’s our Ariat Sunstopper 2.0 1/4 Zip Review to explain why!
The Sunstopper 2.0 ¼ Zip is part of Ariat’s AriatTEK™ Heatseries and is classed as a summer base layer however this suggests it is made purely to go underneath other tops which isn’t completely true. It’s also great as a normal top, especially in summer. The purpose of the Sunstopper is to keep you cool in the warmer months; it’s extremely light weight and features SPF™ technology meaning it protects skin from the sun’s harmful rays, keeping it cooler than tops that absorb these rays. It also features ‘mesh’ panelling on the underside of the arms which function as cooling vents.
Ariat’s exclusive Moisture Movement Technology™ wicks moisture away from the skin to the outside of the garment where is can evaporate meaning you stay much dryer during intense activity. It’s an ideal layer to go under a body protector or for working on the yard in the heat. The ¼ and mock collar gives a smart finish and it also features a stock loop. The Sunstopper can also be used as a base-layer or mid-layer in the cooler months. By layering it up in this way, it can offer more warmth than you would think due to trapping warm air in between your other garments and therefore offering a decent amount of insulation for not a lot of weight. This isn’t it’s primary purpose but it certainly works when layered properly.
The fit on the Sunstopper is close, it’s made to be next to the skin in order to properly function however it’s not a tight fit. If you like a bit more room, it would be worth going up a size however it’s worth noting that it won’t function quite as well if it’s baggy, especially when it comes to moisture wicking.
Overall, it’s easy to see why they Sunstopper is a favourite of you guys, but for anybody who hasn’t tried it or doesn’t know what it’s about, hopefully the above will offer some helpful info!
